The Sandbox Foundation was established for the purposes of awarding financial grants to students preparing to further their education. The foundation was created in the September 2015 by Rock and Cheryl Kuchenmeister as a tribute to parents Wayne and Barbara Faye Kuchenmeister.
The Sandbox Foundation is a federal tax exempt organization under Internal Revenue Code (IRC) Section 501(c)(3). Donors can deduct contributions they make under IRC Section 170. The foundation is also able to receive bequests, devises, transfers or gifts under Section 2055, 2106, or 2522. This is a private foundation, within the meaning of Section 509(a).
